Welcome to Virginia Commonwealth University’s Department of Internal Medicine. As clinicians, teachers and scholars, our faculty members are strongly committed to the academic mission. We serve the health interests of the citizens of the commonwealth of Virginia, the educational goals of VCU, and the scientific quests of biology and medicine worldwide.

Our faculty members are men and women who fill the unforgiving minute with 60 seconds of great activity. Some commit part of their out-of-hospital time to the Fan Free Clinic. Others give special lectures to local school children, and many offer their clinical skills freely to citizens of underdeveloped countries during their vacation time. We seek the balance between family time, various avocations, commitment to the community and our passion for medicine.
Of course, we can offer you only a brief view of our activities and spirit herein. However, with this brief introduction, we hope that you will want to know us better.
