The School of Medicine runs an information system called Faculty Expertise Directory that presents searchable information on each School of Medicine faculty member that is collected and used by all major search engines.

This directory is a powerful marketing tool for your skills and expertise.

Potential patients or non-MCV physicians will search the database to find a specialist whose profile includes the problems of their own health situation.

The administration may search the database to locate specialists to use in special projects and expert panels and committees.

External organizations will also search the database to find the qualified experts in various fields of medical science.

There is a very simple and easy way for the faculty to update their individual entries in the system.

If you hold an affiliate appointment with VCU and/or do not have an eID, please submit your changes using the Faculty Expertise Profile Update Form (Word format).

In a nutshell:

first, think about what you want to tell about yourself in about 350 words; then, click on the button "Update Your Profile" below; key in your eID and password; fill in the boxes with updated text and you are done! lastly, change your contact entries
